Still Life Photography

Since I have not been taking portraits pictures other than portraits of my daughters, I decided to post some still life photos.

The photo below is a photo that I used for Hershey Camera Club print competition.  This is my first year in the camera club.

The next photo is a photo that I am planning to use for the next Hershey Camera Club photo competition.

Jen and LaShae [Hershey, PA Photography]

Jen and LaShae calls each other BFF.  I took portraits of their kids and then after that I did portraits of the moms.

Naomi [Harrisburg Children Photography]

This is an old photo of my oldest daughter.  It was taken back in February this year.  I just realized that I have never posted this to my blog.  This is one of my favorite shot of Naomi.

Adra [Hummelstown, PA Children Photography]

I took Adra's portrait at the same time with Carlie and Eden.  It was slightly easier to shoot Adra's portrait compared to Carlie since she is less active and doesn't move around as much as Carlie.

Carlie [Hummelstown, PA Children Photography]

This is Carlie, Eden's older sister from the previous post. I will have to admit it was a challenge to shoot Carlie. She was very active. When I got in front of her, she would have turned around and ran to a different direction. It became more challenging with the harsh noon time sunlight. No excuse though. I need to be able to get the shots no matter what. I know her mom loves the results and that is good. And I keep learning and improving my skills.

Her friend, Adra was there too and I got some shots of them together.  I will post more photos of Adra on my next post.

Eden [Hummelstown, PA Children Photographer]

I will be posting children portraits that I did a few weeks ago for my next few posts.  I enjoyed doing the session. The weather was surprisingly nice that day. The shoot started around 11am, so I had to deal with harsh light through the session. I wish I had a reflector with me, but I think I still got some good shots.

I also did a shoot with her sister Carlie (I will feature Carlie on my next post)

High-key Black and White Headshots [Harrisburg, PA Photography]

I recently did headshot photos for my church pastors.  I was trying to keep the same style of high key black and white photos done by my good buddy Chad Brackeen.

Portrait of myself

These photos are not taken by me. It is actually not even taken by an adult. These photos were taken by my 3 yrs old daughter. It was probably the first time she was using my DSLR and having to look through the viewfinder instead of the LCD to take photos. But she did an amazing job that I have to share it.

PAUCA Bash [Harrisburg, PA Event Photographer]

A few weeks ago, I was asked by my friend to take photos for Pennsylvania United Cricket Association (PAUCA) Bash/Award ceremony.  I accepted it not knowing what challenges will be ahead of me.  This was my first time being the event photographer.  Wow, what a different experience.  First, I didn't even ask how many people would be in the event.  I was surprised when I arrived there and see the number of tables and when I asked my friend, he told me there would be around 500 guests!!!  Second, I knew that the event won't start on time.  The published start time was 5pm.  The event itself started after 6pm.  My friend was not kidding when he said it was 5pm India standard time, meaning that the earliest it would start would be 5:30pm.  And trying to deal with bad lighting and not getting in the way of the video guy make it more challenging too.  But I think I get some decent photos.  I still have a lot to learn too and I am open to constructive criticism.  (Note: if you want to see the almost all of the images, go to PAUCA website and thenn go to Multimedia - Photos section)
